Since we have already posted the Grantland Week 4 preview, I’ll pass on doing a lengthy preview of the weekend in college football. Here is a quick link to a week 4 college football watching guide put together by SB Nation. Now for my picks:
(ACC) The College GameDay game of the week: #10 Clemson at #4 Florida State (Line- Florida State -14.5): Herbie, Corso and the gang will be in Tallahassee for about as good match-up as you’re going to get in the ACC this year. Two quarterbacks form Virginia’s Tidewater area go head to head with E.J. Manuel squaring off against Tajh Boyd. The ‘Noles look like the complete package this year. Calling it…’Noles 27 to 14 over the Tigers.
(Pac-12) # 22 Arizona at #3 Oregon (Line: Oregon -21.5): The first real test for the Ducks after a Betty Crocker non-conference schedule. The wildcats will hang around for 2.5-3 quarters but the no-huddle spread offense of Oregon wears Arizona down in the later stages of the game. Calling it….Ducks 45 to 27.
UPSET SPECIAL (Big 10/Independent) #18 Michigan at #11 Notre Dame (Line: Notre Dame -6): The Irish upset #10 Michigan State last week, but I see them open for a letdown this week. Quarterback Denard “Shoelace” Robinson and the Wolverines won in a miraculous overtime game last year. I see Michigan with just enough magic left to make it two years in a row. Calling it…. Michigan over the Irish 28 to 24.
